Meat, Beer & Great Company – What a Night at The Five Bells!

Our very first Meat & Brewer night was such a success… we’re already thinking about the next one!

What happens when you combine great food, fantastic real ale, a room full of beer lovers and a brilliant brewery representative?

A rather special evening at The Five Bells!

Last Friday evening, we were delighted to welcome Charlie from Timothy Taylor’s Brewery for our very first Meat & Brewer Night – and, quite honestly, it was even better attended than we could have hoped for!

The restaurant was completely full, with tables packed with customers ready to enjoy an evening of beer, food and plenty of conversation.

🍺 A Timothy Taylor Tap Takeover!

For just £15 per person, our guests enjoyed the opportunity to sample five different Timothy Taylor beers, including the three beers we had on our pumps for the evening.

The line-up included:

• Marmalade

• Blonde

• Landlord

• Boltmaker

• Landlord Dark

So, for one evening, The Five Bells became a little corner of Timothy Taylor heaven – a complete Timothy Taylor Tap Takeover!

But it wasn't just about drinking the beer. Charlie took everyone through the different beers, explaining their characteristics, how they are brewed and what makes each one unique.

He made his way around the restaurant, visiting each table, answering questions and chatting to our customers. There was plenty of interest, plenty of questions and, of course, plenty of beer tasting!

🥩 And then there was the food...

Our chefs Andy and Rob worked carefully with us to put together a beautiful meat platter specifically designed to complement the beers.

Different flavours and textures were chosen to bring out the best in each beer, making the evening about much more than simply enjoying a pint.

Good beer, good food and good company – what more could you ask for?

🍻 A fantastic atmosphere

One of the best things about the evening was seeing the restaurant so full of people enjoying themselves.

There was a real buzz around the room, with customers chatting, tasting, comparing notes, asking Charlie questions and, judging by the smiles and laughter, having a thoroughly good evening!

Charlie certainly seemed to enjoy himself too, and we were delighted to welcome him to The Five Bells.

A huge thank you to Charlie and everyone at Timothy Taylor’s Brewery for helping to make our first Meat & Brewer such a memorable night.

And, of course, a massive thank you to Andy, Rob and our whole pub team for putting together such a great evening.

❤️ Should we do it again?

Well… judging by the response, we think we might have to!

The evening proved so popular that we are already looking at organising another Meat & Brewer event in the New Year, this time with a different brewery.

Claire has already started talking to brewery representatives and getting the ball rolling!
